A bus skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge. This mishap took place in Plera in Mandi tehsil in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir in the morning on December 8, Saturday. 12 passengers were died and 34 others were injured, four of them were critically injured in this accident. The passenger bus was traveling from Loran to Poonch. After this mishap, police, ambulance, rescue and search operations team reached on the spot. All injured were shifted to a hospital in Mandi for treatment. A chopper was arrived soon from Jammu to airlifted the passengers from the gorge. Authority was also arranged air ambulance for those who were in a critical condition. Reason behind this accident is yet to be ascertained. A bus was totally damaged. Locals were also gathered to help them. According to sources, the driver lost his control of the vehicle while he was trying to negotiate a bend on the road.
