19 people killed, 12 injured as an under-construction flyover collapses in Varanasi’s Cantt area

Nineteen people killed while twelve others injured after a portion on an under-constructed flyover collapsed in Varanasi’s Cantt area on May 15. Sources stated that cars and local buses crashed under the bridge as two pillars of  the flyover collapsed bringing  down a huge slab of concrete.

Five teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and police personnel were rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operation. Injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. Huge disruption had caused in the surrounding following to this mishap. Traffic disruption was also anticipated in the region.
