Another deadly incident in the nation took the lives of many. At least 20 people died and several got injured after a speeding state transport bus collided with an auto-rickshaw in Nashik district on Jan 28. Both the vehicle fell into a roadside well after colliding. The accident took place in the evening at Meshi Phata on the Malegaon -Deola Road in the North Maharashtra district.
Both the vehicles plunged after crashing. 7 people died on the spot while other passengers were firstly claimed to be injured. As soon as the accident was reported to the police team, the ambulance and rescue team rushed to the spot. The rescue operation took a huge time of more than 8 hours. The bodies were pulled out of the well in which both the vehicles fell. The number of death increased to 20 during the rescue operation. Around 30 got injured in the mishap. They were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
According to the locals, the bus driver lost control of the bus which led to this horrifying accident. The bus was traveling from Malegaon to Kalwan. Maharashtra Transport Minister Anil Parab expressed his grief towards the victims of the accident. A compensation of Rs 10 lakhs each will be given to the kin of the deceased and free medical treatment to all the injured.
