A grenade attack took place at a prayer hall near the Nirankari Bhawan at Adliwal village in Rajasansi village of Amritsar, Punjab on November 18, Sunday afternoon. Three people were died and 20 other injured in this blast. Police force, rescue team and ambulances were immediately rushed on the spot. Injured were shifted to Amritsar hospital for a treatment. Investigation process was underway in the area. Major disruption caused in the vicinity.
This incident happened when people were gathered at Nirankari Bhawan at Rajasansi village for a religious ceremony. About 250 people were present inside the hall during this blast. Two motorcycle-borne men hurled grenade towards the stage and managed to flee from spot. Forensic teams and a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team reached the spot after this mishap. The two criminals also threatened devotees with a gun before flinging the explosive into the prayer hall. After this attack, Punjab government had imposed additional police security in an importance places in the city. Punjab and the Delhi-NCR were on high alert. Punjab Chief Minister announced 5 lakh for the victims of the Amritsar blast and free treatment for the injured.
