In yet another dreadful road accident four people lost their lives and several others were injured after a double-decker bus carrying them overturned on Agra Expressway in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The bus lost control after one of its wheel burst. Apart from the four deceased, around 50-60 other people were injured in the accident.
The bus travelling from Jaipur to Bihar was reportedly carrying people from different districts of Bihar. Most of them are from Darbhanga, Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur. The survivors while giving the account of the accident stated that they heard a loud explosion after which the bus rolled multiple times on the highway.
The rescue operations began only after the police reached the spot. Passengers were trapped inside and a crane was used to straighten the bus. It is reported that the four passengers died after coming under pressure of the rubbles of the bus. The accident had created a long traffic jam on the highway. Traffic movement had returned to normal after a few hours.
