5 died in fire at a fireworks factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli

A massive fire broke out at a fireworks factory in Shamli city of Uttar Pradesh.  The incident took the lives of 5 people. The deaths included 2 women. The fire broke after an explosion in the factory. The factory is situated in the Kandhla area near Delhi- Saharanpur highway. Several laborers were inside the factory when the explosion happened. The incident created ruckus in the locality. The factory building collapsed due to the explosion and fire inside the premises. As soon as the fire was noticed, locals immediately informed the police and the fire brigade team. Fire brigade rushed to the spot and managed to douse off the flames. The whole process of handling fire took a few hours.

According to the locals, the fire occurred at around 4:45 in the evening. 5 people died on the spot after the explosion occurred. According to the police, the factory is running illegally and there were no facilities to tackle the situation. The cause of the explosion is not ascertained yet. The police team is investigating the cause of the fire.
