A bus carrying more than 50 students fell into a gorge in Dang district of south Gujarat in the evening on December 22, Saturday. Five people were killed on the spot while more than 24 were seriously injured in this accident. This mishap took place when the bus was travelling on the Mahal-Bardipada route near Ahwa. The bus was returning from Shabri Dham which is a religious and tourist destination in the Dang. Police, ambulances, local authorities and rescue team were reached on spot.
According to officials, driver lost his control on bus. Some of the injured students were shifted to Ahwa civil hospital while others were shifted to Surat civil hospital for a treatment. All the students were residents of Amroli area in Surat.
