A level 2 fire broke out in Mumbai’s Milan Industrial Estate; none hurt

A level 2 fire broke out in Mumbai’s Milan Industrial Estate at around 11.15 pm on February 7. Huge flames were seen on the upper part of the building. This area is situated at Sewri in Abhyudaya Nagar near Kala Chowky area in Mumbai. 8 fire tenders, one ambulance and police personnel along with one quick response vehicle rushed to the spot as soon as they received the information regarding the incident and started the rescue operation in the area. Luckily no one was injured in this tragedy. Fire brought under control after two hours. All leather materials were destroyed in the fire.

The ground plus five-storey building consists of various workshops of plastic, lamination and printing, with each floor comprising of 26 rooms. The fire erupted in a closed godown of Bombay leather owned by Kunal Bajaj who had four rooms on the fifth floor. The fire was restricted to three of the four rooms which contained leather material in it, causing a huge fire to erupt in the building.

Earlier, in another incident that took place on Thursday evening (Feb 6), a major fire broke out at a dyeing company in Bhiwandi of Maharashtra.
