A major fire caused severe structural damage to the headquarters of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation on July 23

The headquarters of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) had caught fire on July 23. The NMRC HQ manages the Noida – Greater Noida Metro services. Fire brigade was immediately rushed to the spot after receiving inputs and successfully responded to the fire. No casualty was reported in this mishap however, the fire caused severe structural damage to the headquarters of the corporation. The cause of the fire appears to be an electric short circuit in the premises.

The fire was erupted in NMRC HQ located at  Ganga Shopping Complex of Sector 29 around 9 am on Tuesday. A team of fire brigade was immediately rushed to the incident location after being informed about the incident. All the non-essential employees were evacuated from the structure. The fire could be doused off completely after more than one hour of efforts. This fire caused major damage to senior officer’s room, furniture and equipment in the office. However, important official papers and records are reported to be safe.

Meanwhile, no major road closures or power outages reported due to this fire. However, localised disruptions were caused during the fire extinguishing operations.
