A massive fire broke out at a hosiery factory in Ludhiana on April 27, none hurt

A massive fire broke out at a hosiery factory in Ludhiana’s Bahadur Ke Road area at around 1.40 am on April 27. At least 100 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse off the blaze. Cooling operation was underway till late afternoon of April 27. No injury was reported in this fire.

The fire broke in JM Hosiery Mills Private Limited at garment factory located at Bahadarke Road, Guru Preet Nagar in Ludhiana in the wee hours. There was manufacturing of polyester fabric and factory is spread in around 3000 square yards of area. Over dozen people were inside the factory for night shift. When workers started work again in the midnight then suddenly they realized the smell and some smoke started coming out of one corner of the factory. When they informed to fire house, around seven to eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot. However, the fire was still not under control. Then 100 fire tenders were reached on spot to control the situation. Cause of the fire was ascertained. Factory structure was totally damaged in the fire. This fire doused off after 2 hours.
