A huge fire at Nashik’s Pharma Packing Company; no injury

A massive fire has broken out at a Pharma Packing company situated at Satpur area near Nashik in Maharashtra on May 7 in the evening.

Satpur is the biggest industrial zone in Nashik. This area has also covered by residential colonies, mostly occupied by company workers. It is a designated industrial area developed by MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation), so it is also called as ‘Satpur MIDC’ area. Many engineering companies and automobile part manufacture companies are located in Satpur. Bosch, Starlite components Limited, Essey Engineer Company and Reliance Engineer Company is also located in this area.

According to the reports, sudden chaos was caused when a fire ignited at the spot. The company workers had started to douse off the fire even before the fire brigade arrived. The fire tenders reached the spot within 10 minutes after receiving the information. The local police team also rushed on the spot along with the ambulance. Around 10 fire tenders with two water tankers reached to spot to douse off the flame. Fortunately, no one was injured in this mishap because workers were not present in the company due to the lowdown period. A company was closed. All materials were gutted in the fire. A huge cloud of dark smoke could have been seen billowing from the company. A fire started at around 7 pm. The cause of the fire was unknown. The fire took one hour to be doused.  The police investigation was underway in the area after this incident. The company was completely gutted as well as a lot of raw material which was stored in the factory, was also destroyed in this fire.

This was the fourth major explosion within 24 hours in the month of April. Before this two gas leaks in Vizag and Chhattisgarh took place, which was followed by an explosion of a boiler in Tamil Nadu.
