A fire broke out at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) office in Karkardooma area in Delhi around 1:30 in the afternoon on July 5. As soon as the locals noticed smoke coming out of the DGHS building within no time they informed the fire tenders. The fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot. Around 22 fire tenders were present on the spot and were trying to douse off the flames. Luckily no injury was reported in this incident.
According to the reports, around 400-500 people, including employees and the government officers were present inside the structure during the time of the incident. The blaze was so massive that it was spreading rapidly inside the building hence panic was created among the people present in the building.
Around 60 fire personnel were deployed on the spot for firefighting operation and resue the people who were trapped inside the DGHS building.
Sources further revealed that the blaze first started on the sixth floor of the DGHS building and quickly started spreading to 7th and 8th floors.
The fire tenders tried to douse off the flames within a short period of time hence due to the quick response of the firefighters no loss of life was reported, sources further added.
The cause of the fire is ascertained yet however the concerned authorities are working on this incident and are trying to find out the actual cause behind the fire.
