Fire broke out at IELTS coaching center in Chandigarh

A fire incident happened in the Chandigarh on Monday afternoon. The incident took place in an IELTS preparation institute in Chandigarh’s Sector 17. The institute is on the third floor of the building. No injuries reported in this incident as no one was present in the institute due to undergoing lockdown. The fire was so huge that it spread to other showrooms as well on the same floor in the building.

According to the fire officials, they got a call regarding fire breakout at SCO 88-89 was received at around 3.15 pm. The incident took place at an IELTS coaching center named Touchstone, which is on the third floor of the building. The coaching center’s wooden furniture and documents got engulfed in the flames. The fire also spread to SCO 92-93 which is a garment showroom named Poshak, next to the coaching center.

The fire brigade rushed to the spot with 10 vehicles just after receiving the call. While fighting the flames 2 more fire tenders were pushed to action. The fire took hours to be doused. According to the fire officials, the cause of fire was short circuit in the premises.
