Fire broke out in luggage coach of the Kashi Vishwanath Express on February 11

Fire broke out in seating-cum-luggage coach of the Varanasi-bound Kashi Vishwanath Express on Sunday February 11 around 2:14 pm. This mishap took place when the train reached Ghaziabad-Moradabad section on Hapur railway station near Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. Suddenly a fire broke out in the SLR coach during sealing and the Guard and the Locopilot tried to overcome it. According to the Northern railway officials, The SLR (seating cum luggage rake) coach was separated from the train immediately after this mishap.

The Divisional Railway Manager and senior officials were rushed on the spot to handle the situation. In this mishap, no casualties were reported but two coaches were totally gutted in the fire. All passengers were safe. Fire tenders and water tankers were reached on spot to douse the flame. Fire fighters brought fire under control after two hours. Police team rushed for investigation. Main reason behind fire was short circuit. Train traffic was disrupted due to this incident.
