Fire in an Ink manufacturing factory caused panic and disruption in the vicinity

A major fire broke out in a Crimson Inks factory located at site no.4 in Sarai Meeta at Panki Industrial Area in the afternoon of 5th October . More than two dozen fire tenders were deployed in the area to control the fire. No casualties were reported. Residents in the nearby areas complained of breathlessness after inhaling fumes and smoke. The flames from the fire spot were spotted from as far as 2 kilometers.

According to the sources report, fire broke out in the factory when drums containing highly inflammable substances burst one by one after coming in contact with a blaze. The fire was first spotted by the factory employees, who tried to put it off and alerted the fire department and their employer. Over two dozen fire tenders rushed to the fire spot and evacuated the locals in the vicinity, fearing the fire might spread rapidly further in the area.  The exact cause of the fire was unknown but it appeared to have been caused by a short-circuit. The factory is owned by Ajit Kumar Jain, a resident of Krishna Nagar. The factory used to manufacture inks from chemicals.
