Fire in Bhubaneswar-Bound Rajdhani Express, none hurt

A fire broke out in the power car of New Delhi – Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express (22812)on Saturday, May 11 at 12.50 pm between Balasore and Soro railway stations of Odisha. This is the only power car which supplies power to the train. Smoke was reported in the power car of the train at Khantapada in Kharagpur division of South Eastern Railways. Fire did not spread to any other coach. The train was going from New Delhi to Bhubaneshwar. Three fire tenders reached the spot and doused off the flames within two hours. Railway officials also were present in the area. The power car was disconnected from the rest of the train and the overhead electric wires were switched off for safety reasons. No one was hurt in this incident. All passengers were safe. After repair work, the train left Khantapada for Bhubaneswar at 2:59 pm.
