IED blast in Mendhar, one killed & seven injured

One security personnel martyred and seven people were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast. This mishap took place near forward post along Line of Control in Mendhar sector of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir on May 23, Wednesday morning. Militants had planted an IED across LoC and an army party trapped while patrolling. This explosion took place when an army patrol of 12 Madras Regiment was going through the area at Dhera Dabsi. All injured were shifted to the Udhampur military hospital for treatment after this incident. This blast occurred during a training activity. Security forces were deployed in the area. The severity of blast was moderate.
