Landslide in J&K’s Doda district left 5 dead and 9 injured.

5 people killed and 9 got injured in a landslide in Payakul area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 24, 2019.  The incident happened around 10:30 in the morning. The victims were from Udhampur district and were heading towards the Paddar valley to join the ongoing Machail yatra. Just when they were passing from the Doda-Kishtwar road, suddenly huge boulders and debris came down from a hillock trapping a minibus and a car plying. 4 people died on the spot and 10 were injured. Police personnel rushed to the spot and admitted the injured people immediately to the nearest hospital. 2 of the injured people were admitted in a critical situation. Out of which 1 died during the treatment.

The incident disrupted traffic on the Doda- Kishtwar road. It took a few hours to remove the debris from the road.
