Seven wagons of a goods train derailed near ROH depot In Bhusawal on March 15; services affected for 4 hours
Seven wagons of a goods train were derailed near the ROH depot at Bhusawal in Maharashtra on March 15 around 6.55 in the morning. The incident took place on main line of Delhi-Mumbai route due a rail fracture. Fortunately, no casualty was reported in this mishap. Soon after the incident, the railway officials were rushed to the spot and worked hard for over four hours and managed to restore the line. At least 15 long distance trains were affected due to this accident.
The derailment happened when the train was moving thought the main line from cabin number 3 at ROH depot, Bhusawal. As soon as the train reached the fractured portion of the track, seven wagons were derailed one by one from it. The railway officials and the personnel from engineering, electric & other departments were immediately rushed to the spot after receiving information of this accident. The restoration work continued till 11 am following which the line was reopened for train movement.
Around 15 trains which operate though Bhusawal division on Delhi Mumbai route were delayed by 3-4 hours due to this incident. The delayed trains included, 22139 Pune–Ajni Humsafar Express, 11057 Mumbai CSMT – Amritsar (Dadar/Pathankot) Express, 12811 Hatia Express from Lokmanyatilak T to Hatia, 12656 Chennai-Ahmedabad Navjivan Express, 61101 Bhusaval Badnera MEMU, 11055 Godan Express from Lokmanyatilak T to Gorakhpur Jn, 11093 Mahanagari Express from Mumbai CSMT to Varanasi Jn, 18621 Patliputra Express from Patna Jn to Hatia, Ajmer Express, Manduadih Express, etc. Several passengers were inconvenienced due to this derailment.
