Violence in Allahabad over law students’ Murder on February 12

Violence erupted in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh on February 12. This violence took place after death of a law student of Allahabad University who was attacked by a group of men on Friday (February 9).

After this incident, angry students were protested outside the offices of top police officers in the area. They raised anti-government slogans against the local administration. They were demanded justice and compensation for family and immediate arrest of the culprits. They pelted stones on vehicles and also torched a bus. The bus was on its way to Teliyarganj. Fire tender and police team rushed on spot after this mishap. But, bus was totally gutted in the fire. No casualties were reported. All passengers were safe. Heavy police force was deployed in the area to makes sure no untoward incident happens. Tense situation prevailed in the area. Traffic disruption caused due to this protest.
