A building collapsed in Azad Market area of New Delhi on September 9



An unfortunate incident took place during the morning hours of September 9, after a 4-storey under-construction building collapsed in Azad market area of New Delhi. This tragic incident occurred at around 8:30 am after it was overloaded with construction materials, trapping around 5 people under the debris. This situation raised a wave of panic among the locals. The rescue team were deployed in the area after receiving the information regarding the horrendous situation.


The fire department, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the District Disaster Management Authority soon rushed to the spot after receiving the information and immediately started the rescue operation. The authorities with help from the locals of the area managed to evacuate all the people from the wreckage of the building. The rescue team faced problem while removing the debris as the incident spot was crowded with people.

According to the reports, substandard material was used in the construction of the building and it was heavily loaded with construction material, which caused its collapse. All the trapped people were rescued from under the debris and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
