A building collapsed in Kopar Khairane area of Mumbai on October 1



A tensed situation was formed during the night hours of October 1, after portion of a 4-storey residential building collapsed in Bonkode village of Navi Mumbai’s Kopar Khairane area, Mumbai, Maharashtra. This tragic incident occurred at around 10:30 pm when the building suddenly collapsed trapping around 8 people under the debris. This situation raised a wave of panic among the locals. The rescue team were deployed in the area after receiving the information regarding the horrendous situation.


The fire department soon rushed to the spot after receiving the information and immediately started the rescue operation. The authorities with help from the locals of the area managed to evacuate all the people from the wreckage of the building. The rescue team faced problem while removing the debris as the incident spot was crowded with people.


According to the reports, 32 people who lived in the building had gone out to work and the remaining eight people were coming out of the building when it collapsed but got trapped under the debris. 1 person died in this incident.
