A massive fire broke out at Raghuvanshi Mill compound on February 17


A massive fire broke out at an office area on the second and third floor of the ground plus three storeys commercial structure in the Raghuvanshi Mill compound on Senapati Bapat Marg in Lower Parel at around 7.15 pm on February 17. The fire tenders were immediately informed about the blaze. Eight fire engines along with four jumbo water tankers, one quick response vehicle and one breathing apparatus van were rushed to the spot.


After checking on the intensity of the blaze, the fire tenders declared the fire as level 3. As the fire was spreading rapidly four fire engines and two jumbo water tankers were asked to send to the spot.


Around 20-25 people were stuck inside the structure and a rescue operation was underway. The blaze went on for several hours and finally, the firefighters tried to manage the blaze.

According to the preliminary reports, the reason behind the blaze might be a short circuit. Also, the electronic appliances, papers, and furniture intensified the flames that spread between two floors in the structure.
