An explosion took place inside a factory in Raigad district on October 19

An explosion took place at a factory named Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited which is located in the town of Alibag in Raigad district of Maharashtra on October 19. This tragic incident occurred at around 5 pm inside the chemical factory inducing a chaotic situation. As per reports, a group of workers were repairing an air conditioner at the RCF unit of the factory when suddenly a blast occurred in the AC compressor. This situation raised a wave of panic among the other employees of the factory. The fire department and the police department were soon informed regarding the menacing situation.
Local fire tenders and police personnel along with few ambulances soon rushed to the spot to control the chaotic situation. They started to evacuate all the people from the factory campus area soon after reaching the spot. The rescue teams faced difficulties to control the situation as the people inside the campus were panic-stricken and were rushing out of the factory.
According to the reports, 3 people died while 3 other people were critically injured in this incident. The injured were later rushed to a hospital located in Airoli area of Navi Mumbai for medical treatment. Further investigation regarding the incident is underway and a case has been registered at the Alibag police station.
