Bus falls into gorge in Chamba; 35 injured

Around 35 passengers were injured when a private bus met with an accident near Karian on Chamba-Bharmaur road in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh at 7.45 am on October 10. The rescue team along with police and ambulance reached the spot immediately. It was a major accident.
This private bus was on its way from Lilh to Chamba via Dharwala in the morning. The driver lost control of the bus and the bus rolled down the road 50 feet when it reached near Sarei nullah, about three kilometers ahead of Karian. Bus overturned and collapsed on a house. Some portion of house was damaged. Local residence gathered in the area and they shifted injured to Chamba Medical College for treatment. Locals also informed to police team about this accident. The 35 passengers travelling in the bus. Administrative officers reached the spot and they had started relief and rescue operation. Around 35 people were injured in this accident and 7 in critical condition. 31 injured passengers had discharged after first aid.
According to the primary investigation, this accident took place due to over speed of a bus. A bus completely damaged. The police have registered a case against the driver for negligence. Traffic movement was disrupted on Chamba-Bharmaur road. Road was closed for some time.
