Fire broke out at a foam mattress manufacturing company in Ambernath on July 12

A massive fire broke out at Dasmesh Foam Company in Anand Nagar Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area of Ambernath in Thane district, Maharashtra on July 12. A sudden chaos was formed in the area at around 5:30 pm after an explosion took place in the company followed by the fire.
According to the reports, around 30 company staffs were inside the unit when the incident took place. The staff members at first tried to douse off the blaze but soon it engulfed a major portion of the building after which they alerted the fire tenders. The fire was so terrible that it raised a wave of panic among the people as a plume of black smoke covered the area.
5 fire tenders from Ambernath and Badlapur area soon rushed to the spot after receiving the information and immediately started evacuating people from the building. They also had to stop the traffic in the area due to the incident. The fire tenders faced a lot of difficulties while fighting the flame as the flames were spreading quickly and also due to the billowing smoke. It took them around 3 hours to control the blaze as around 60% of the unit was gutted.
As per the reports, no casualties or injuries were reported in this incident as all the staff members managed to escape out of the unit on time. Many items inside the unit were damaged due to the blaze.
