Fire broke out at Gangamai Sugar factory in Ahmednagar on Feb 25

A massive fire broke out at Gangamai Sugar Factory in Shevgaon Taluka of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra on February 25. The tragic incident took place at around 6:30 pm inducing a chaotic situation in the area. According to the reports, there were nearly 80 people working in the factory when the incident took place. A sudden chaos was formed among the locals of the area when the blast took place as it was heard several kilometres away from the spot and plume of black smoke covered the area. The fire department and the police department were soon informed regarding the horrendous situation.
More than 10 fire tenders along with police personnel and health workers soon rushed to the spot after receiving the information and immediately started the rescue operation. The authorities with help from the locals of the area managed to evacuate all the people trapped under the wreckage of the factory.
As per reports, more than 8 people were injured in this incident as they suffered burn injuries and has been rushed to the nearby hospital for medical attention. No other casualties were reported in this incident.
