Fire broke out at Hotel Levana in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on September 5

A frantic situation was formed during the morning hours of September 5, when a massive fire broke out at Hotel Levana in Hazratganj area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. A chaos was formed among the residents from nearby Gulmohar Apartment at around 7 am who later alerted the staff of the hotel. As per the reports, several people were trapped in the menacing situation. The fire was so terrible that it raised a wave of panic among the locals as a plume of black smoke covered the area. The fire department was soon informed regarding the horrendous situation.
A total of 25 fire tenders and 3 ambulances rushed to the spot after receiving the information and started the evacuation process. They also had to stop the traffic in the area due to the incident. The fire tenders faced a lot of difficulties while fighting the flame due to the billowing smoke. They used external ladders to access the windows of rooms on 2nd and 3rd floor where people were trapped. The fire fighters also had to dig holes and opening into the walls using JCBs to spray water inside the first floor.
According to the reports, 4 people died in this incident, while, 35 people were rescued and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Moreover, at the time of the incident, 18 out of 40 rooms of the four-storey hotel were occupied. Furthermore, it took the fire tender around 5 hours to fight the flames.
