Fire broke out at slums in Jahangirpuri area of New Delhi on June 4


A massive fire broke out at the slums located in the K block area of Jahangirpuri, New Delhi on June 4. A sudden chaos was formed among the locals of the area at around 10:20 am when they noticed that the fire engulfed a godown of waste materials, located a little outside the slum area. This situation raised a wave of panic among the locals present in the surrounding of the slum as the area was soon engulfed with billowing smoke. The fire department and the police department were soon informed regarding the menacing situation.


Around 12 fire tenders along with police personnel soon rushed to the spot after receiving the information and immediately started to evacuate nearby people from the area. They faced a lot of difficulties while fighting the blaze due to the billowing smoke, but after around 2 hours they were able to douse off the blaze.


As per the reports, no people were present inside the warehouse when the fire broke out. Moreover, everything things kept inside the warehouse were destroyed in the fire. Furthermore, the blaze was so massive that the roof of the warehouse and many parts of it were completely destroyed.
