Fire broke out in a oil company in Tarapur MIDC in Boisar, Maharashtra on July 3

A tensed situation was formed during the night hours of July 3 when a massive fire broke out in an Oil Company in Tarapur MIDC in Boisar, Palghar district of Maharashtra. The tragic incident took place at around 9:30 pm inducing a chaotic situation in the area. According to the reports, the incident took place when the industrial fuel Light Diesel Oil (LDO) was being unloaded from a tanker. The LDO might have leaked from the tanker or the pipeline resulting in the liquid evaporating and burning.
Few people were trapped inside the building after the blaze erupted. This situation raised a wave of panic among the locals present in the surrounding of the company as the area was soon engulfed with billowing smoke. The fire department and the police department were soon informed regarding the menacing situation.
Around 8 fire tenders along with police personnel soon rushed to the spot after receiving the information and immediately started the rescue operation to evacuate the trapped people from the building. They faced a lot of difficulties while fighting the blaze due to the billowing smoke and foul odour of the oil caused by the blaze, but after around 3 hours they were able to douse off the blaze.
As per reports, 2 workers sustained over 40% burn injuries while another suffered superficial burns and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
