Fire broke out in a shop selling aquariums in the city of Thiruvananthapuram on Feb 10



A massive fire broke out in a shop selling aquariums near All India Radio’s office in Vazhuthacaud area of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on February 10. A sudden chaos was formed in the area at around 4 pm after blaze erupted in the shop during the welding work. There were many materials kept near the welding area that caught fire. According to the reports, the fire was so terrible that it engulfed nearby houses too, which raised a wave of panic among the people. The whole area was covered by plume of black smoke. The fire department was soon informed regarding the horrendous situation.


Fire tenders along with local police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving the information and immediately started evacuating nearby people from the area. They also had to stop the traffic in the area due to the incident. The fire tenders faced a lot of difficulties while fighting the flame as the shop is located on a narrow road and the flames were spreading quickly.


According to the reports, there were 3 people trapped inside the shop when the incident took place but were rescued safely by the fire tenders. No casualties were reported in this incident. Moreover, the shop was completely destroyed in the flame.
