Fire broke out in a three-storey building in Lucknow on Jan 31



A fire broke out in a three-storey building in the Badshahnagar area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on January 31. The blaze erupted inside the structure following a blast at a battery shop on the first floor of the building. A cloud of smoke moving over the building touched the skyline, which filled the area with smoke. After seeing this scenario panic was created among the residents in the nearby colony.


The fire tenders received an alert from a passer-by who noticed the flames billowing from the building at around 5.50 pm. The nearest fire station was immediately informed regarding the same. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot with the additional police force to control the situation.


According to the sources, a team of fire fighters used a hydraulic ladder and got on to the top of the complex which was engulfed in smoke. Later on, 17 people were rescued who were trapped in a gym in the same building. Whereas one person was declared dead.


Sources further revealed that a battery of an e-rickshaw was being charged, which eventually exploded causing the blaze.
