Fire broke out in Cuttack’s Incense factory; none hurt.



A massive fire broke out in an incense stick-making factory in Cuttack district of Odisha at 6 pm on October 17. No injury was reported in this mishap. Fire brigade and police team reached the spot. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately. Fire managed to control the blaze after three hours of efforts.


The fire broke out in SS Enterprisers which produces Mangaldeep brand incense sticks at Jagatpur industrial estate in the evening. At least 8 fire tenders reached the spot immediately to douse off the flame. The Fire brigade team faced difficulty in extinguishing the fire due to thick smoke of sticks. They also faced issue as a huge stock of incense sticks, aroma oils, chemicals and the raw materials had also caught in the factory. No one was injured in this fire but all materials were gutted. Whole factory as well as properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire. According to the primary investigation, a short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire.
