Kurkure Namkeen factory in Patna caught fire on Sept 15



A tensed situation was formed during the morning hours of September 15, when a massive fire broke out in the Kurkure Namkeen factory which is situated near the Patna City Bypass, Patna, Bihar. A wave of panic was formed among the locals when they saw that fire ignited in the food processing unit of the factory. The locals first tried to control the fire in the initial stage but soon the fire engulfed the entire factory. The fire department was soon informed regarding the horrendous situation.


Eight fire tenders soon rushed to the spot after receiving the information and started evacuating the people from nearby structures. They faced a lot of difficulties while fighting the flame due to the billowing smoke but soon took the situation under control and after lot of efforts the fire was doused off. No casualties were reported in this incident.


According to the reports, 3 cars which were parked in the garage located next to the factory got burnt in this incident and loss of lakhs of rupees has also been estimated. Moreover, the Electricity Department also cut off the electricity in the area as a high-tension wire fell down due to the flames.
