Level 3 fire incident at Mazgaon dock in Mumbai on June 21.
A level 3 fire was broke out on the second and third decks of the of the ship Visakhapatnam on June 21 at 4 pm. The major fire incident took place at main gate of Mazgaon dock in Mumbai, Maharashtra. One person was killed and one was injured in this mishap. Seven fire tender were pressed at spot to douse off the flames. Also a Indian navy fire team was present at spot out doused off the fire and to carried out a rescue operation.
According to further reports, a minor fire incident of fire was reported on yard 12704 Visakhapatnam during grinding operations in tank at MDL around 4 pm of June 21. The fire was further raised to level three when fire spread to the second and third decks of the of the ship. Fire team with seven fire tenders and Indian navy fire team managed to be on spot at 5.60 pm. Fire fighting operation was carried out for more than three hours. Later the fire was brought under control around 7 pm and cooling operation was carried out till 9.45 pm. Workers stuck on ship were evacuated however, one worker was killed and other suffered from minor injuries. Injured was admitted to JJ hospital in Mumbai. Huge disruptions weer witnessed in area during this fire.
