Ten people died & 41 injured in Lakhimpur Kheri bus accident

Around ten people lost their lives while 41 others were criticaly injured in a private bus-truck collision in Lakhimpur Kheri of Uttar Pradesh on September 28.
The accident was occurred at 7.30 am on the Pilibhit-Basti National Highway (NH 730) near Era Bridge when a bus collided with a mini-truck which was coming from the opposite direction. The bus was going from Dhaureha to Lucknow. After this incident, locals gathered to the area and immediately called the local police station and fire brigade department. They started the rescue operation without waiting for police. Injured people were shifted to Lucknow for medical treatment. Both vehicles were badly damaged due to this accident. This accident was very horrible. The police team used gas cutter to rescue the passenger from the bus. Traffic movement was disrupted for few hours due to this incident. Later, the traffic officials and rescue team removed the vehicles from the road and cleared the traffic.
As per sources, 12 of the injured were critical and sent to a trauma centre in Lucknow while 29 were undergoing treatment at the district hospital. Saraswati Prasad Verma (94) of Lucknow, Kaushal Kishore (58), Azimun (55), Sagir (45), Surendra Kumar Chaurasiya (35), Jitendra (25), Munnu Mishra (16) an`d Arya Nigam (8), all residents of Dhaurahra tehsil lost their lives in this accident.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and President Droupadi Murmu condoled the loss of lives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000.
